Deleting an Attribute or Value
Each entry in a directory consists of attributes. An attribute comprises the attribute type identification, for example, telephoneNumber, and one or more attribute values, for example, 02 9923 1234.
This option allows you to delete an attribute type or attribute value. If the value deleted is the last value of a given attribute, the attribute is also deleted. It is not possible to delete a mandatory attribute, or the last value of a mandatory attribute.
Note: You can only delete attribute types in the Table Editor.
To delete an attribute or value:
1. Select the entry in the Directory Information Tree (DIT) from which you want to delete an attribute type or value.
2. Do one of the following:
From the Table Editor, right-click the attribute type or value that you want to delete, select Delete Value from the drop-down list, and then click the Submit button
From HTML View, select the value that you want to delete, press the Delete key on your keyboard, and then click the Update button.
